SUSTAINABILITY AS A METHOD
OUR COMMITMENT
The National Congress GISE 2026 is committed to reducing the environmental impact of the event through responsible organizational choices and to promoting more conscious behaviours among participants. A practical approach, based on real and applicable actions, with the aim of contributing to the spread of more sustainable practices within the scientific community, both nationally and internationally.
To translate this commitment into concrete actions, the congress aims to:
- Make the scientific programme available exclusively in digital format;
- Limit printing to essential materials only, using FSC-certified paper;
- Provide dedicated areas for waste separation;
- Prioritise, for event setups, local, reused or recycled and certified materials;
- Use disposable tableware only if biodegradable and compostable;
- Provide information on how to reach the venue via public transport;
- Ensure the venue is accessible and safe for all participants;
- Select, where possible, accommodation within walking distance of the venue;
- Prioritise local suppliers to reduce transport-related impact;
- Collaborate with partners that adopt sustainable practices;
- Offer menus based on local products during social events.
Your contribution
The sustainability of an event also depends on the choices of those who attend it. During the congress, you can contribute in a practical way:
- Use public transport or shared mobility options;
- When possible, choose the train over flying;
- Share taxis with other participants;
- Use a reusable water bottle;
- Access the programme online;
- Separate waste correctly;
- Avoid food waste;
- Support the local economy by choosing local products.
THE CONGRESS AND THE SDGs
Within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the congress contributes in particular to:

SDG 3 - Good Health and Well-being
by promoting the sharing of scientific knowledge and best practices;

SDG 4 - Quality Education
by offering opportunities for professional development and continuous learning;
